- Public Service and Legal Interpreting

-AIT (used to be IAA) and Tribunals interpreter since September 2000.

-Adressed AIT (then IAA) interpreters as “The IAA’s voice of experience” in Nov.2002.

-Working regularly in police stations (interviews, statements, etc.), Courts (magistrates, crown, county, youth, coroner courts, etc.), and Tribunals (IAA, AIT, SSCSAT, Employment Tribunal, Mental Health Review Tribunal, etc.) and also for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), as well as for the Probation Service, for HMRC investigations and for the Home Office UK Border Agency (UKBA).

-Regular work with solicitors and barristers (including in prisons) as well as with psychiatrists for reports.

-Best Interpreting Practice workshop with West Midlands Police, West Midlands Probation Service, CPS and others in May 2007.

-3 month multi-hander trial at Leicester Crown court (Oct.2007-Jan.2008) as part of a team of 4 French interpreters working in a conference booth setting providing continuous simultaneous interpretation to the 8 French speaking defendants (conference equipment provided by Westminster Sonus Sound company).

-Mentor and French language tutor on the 2000/2001 & 2001/2002 DPSI (Engl.Law) course at East Birmingham College.

-Registered IoL examiner for the DPSI exam since 2001 (for the Engl.Law / Local Govt / Health options) and for the Bilingual Skills Certificate (BSC) exam.

-One of the founding members of the NRPSI Action Group of interpreters set up in 2005, group largely involved in the New 2007 agreement on the Use of interpreters.

-Member of the West Midlands Legal Interpreting Steering Group since 2006.
